Tom Wainwright is a writer, performer and theatre maker living in Bristol. Earlier this year, Tom created the solo performance Pedestrian, co-commissioned and produced by Bristol Old Vic and Theatre Bristol, with visual and sound artist Simon Wainwright (of Imitating The Dog – no relation) Pedestrian is about to spend this August at the Edinburgh Fringe at Underbelly. Last year he had his first play, Muscle, produced by Bristol Old Vic. BOV have also commissioned him for three other projects with their Young Company – Project Underworld and Fallen and Jump. Tom also wrote/performed in the sell-out BOV Christmas sketch show Jesus Christ It’s Christmas, plus Love in Idleness and The Grill Chef – all co-productions between Bristol Old Vic and Paper Aeroplane Theatre Company. Nuclear Family has been developed through Royal Court Young Writers Programme which Tom took part in earlier this year. Tom is a member of Residence: an artist-led organization in Bristol.
