Joel Horwood

MIKEY THE PIKEY won the Cameron Mackintosh Award and sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2005. FOOD (Fringe First award-winner) and STOOPUD FUCKEN ANIMALS played at The Traverse Theatre in 2006 and 2007 respectively. I CAUGHT CRABS IN WALBERSWICK enjoyed a sell-out run during the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe and transferred to The Bush theatre.


Other work includes ALL THE LITTLE THINGS WE CRUSHED (Almeida), JACK AND THE BEANSTALK and DICK WHITTINGTON AND HIS CAT (The Lyric), THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and IS EVERYONE OK? (nabokov). Joel's devised work includes INCHES APART (Old Vic Award winner at Theatre503), BAY (Young Vic). His work for screen includes THE REWARD (Red Connector Grand Prize 2008), SKINS (Company Pictures) and an original series commission, FIRING BLANKS (Cowboy and Channel 4).

 

His radio work includes an adaptation of Radiohead's album OK COMPUTER (BBC Radio 4). Joel is currently working on an adaptation of THE BLUE LENSES (Royal and Derngate) and a new play for Paines Plough.
