James is Writer in Residence at the Finborough Theatre, London, where his plays include Albert's Boy, Eden's Empire (Catherine Johnson Best Play Award, 2007), Little Madam, Sons of York and, most recently, The Man. Other theatre includes Tory Boyz (Soho Theatre), A History of Falling Things (Clwyd Theatr Cymru), Huck (Chipping Norton/ Southwark Playhouse) and The Whisky Taster (Bush). Forthcoming productions include Relish (National Youth Theatre), Bassett (National Theatre New Connections), and he is currently under commission with the Bush Theatre and Theatre Royal, Plymouth.
For the screen, James's original comedy-drama Caught in a Trap was ITV1's Boxing Day drama in 2008. He is currently developing new drama with Channel 4, and has a script commission with the UK Film Council.
