David trained as an actor at RSAMD and has worked for many theatre companies across the UK including the RSC, Manchester Royal Exhange, Paines Plough, the Citizens and the Traverse. He is an Associate Member of Dundee Rep Ensemble.
His first play WHAT THE ANIMALS SAY was produced at the Oran Mor, Glasgow in 2009, directed by Lorne Campbell. It subsequently transferred to the Belfast Festival. This was followed by ARGUMENTS FOR TERRORISM, co-produced by Oran Mor and Ransom Productions and directed by Rachel O’Riordan. His third play, EVERYTHING BETWEEN US, toured the United States as a co-production between Belfast’s Tinderbox Theatre Company and Solas Nua of Washington DC, directed by Kathleen Ackerley and will play Belfast in September of this year.
He also contributed material for Tinderbox’s SWINGSTATE CABARET, directed by Michael Duke, and the Traverse Theatre’s GORDON BROWN: A LIFE IN THE THEATRE, directed by David Greig.
His new radio play TROUBLE AND SHAME will be broadcast in July on BBC Radio Scotland, directed by Kirsty Williams.
