Brilliantly witty, acerbic and dark...Butler’s script is superb, flashing from brilliant humour, to heart wrenching emotional breakdown

Synopsis

Lorna and Nina haven't seen each other since a drunken wedding reception six years ago.

Whilst Lorna's been journeying through the urban jungle and reached destination housewife, Nina's been running wild in the jungles of Borneo.

Reunited over lattes and pastries, their friendship is tested to the limit and the question is asked: does civil exist in civilisation?

The return of the legendary A Play, A Pie And A Pint.

Three brand new plays co-produced with Òran Mór and premiering in Glasgow before touring to venues across the UK – with a pie and a pint thrown in.

Leo Butler was born and bred in Sheffield. His stage plays include MADE OF STONE (2000), REDUNDANT (2001, winner of the George Devine Award), LUCKY DOG (2004), and FACES IN THE CROWD (2008), all at the Royal Court.  Other plays include DEVOTION (Theatre Centre, 2002), THE EARLY BIRD (Ransom Productions, 2006), and I’LL BE THE DEVIL (RSC/Tricycle, 2008). His plays have also travelled internationally to Budapest, Moscow, Dublin,  Michigan, Philadelphia, Melbourne, and Johannesburg. His television play JERUSALEM THE GOLDEN was aired on BBC Four in 2003, and his first feature film, SELF-MADE, a part-documentary/part-fiction directed by Turner Prize winning artist Gillian Wearing, was screened at the London Film Festival 2010 to great acclaim, and is due for release in 2011. Leo has also been Writers’ Tutor for the Royal Court’s Young Writers Programme since 2005, mentoring over a hundred aspiring playwrights each year, many of whom have since had their plays produced.
